About the role
Reporting into the Engineering supervisor the multi-skilled engineer will assist in and be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment and plant. As a MS Engineer you will be able to identify and rectify faults both Mechanically and Electrically along with ensuring planned maintenance work is completed within specified timescales. A proactive approach is required, and you will be expected to take ownership of issues found and drive to completion without supervision.
Shift Pattern
You will work a rotating shift pattern across Early, Day, Back and Night shifts, including scheduled days off and will receive a 8.5% shift allowance due to shift working.
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, legality, and quality standards at all times, maintaining an audit-ready environment in line with BRC requirements.
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and servicing of factory equipment, plant, and site services across the Glenbervie complex.
- Support installation, modification, and commissioning of new and existing equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, including PPM and breakdown activity using the CMMS (IFS) system.
- Assist in managing spare parts inventory and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
- Contribute to engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
- Participate in a shift rotation pattern as required.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by Engineering Management.
Experience & Qualifications:
Formal engineering qualification, preferable apprentice trained/time served in your chosen discipline. (Mechanical/Electrical)
Skills:
- Strong Communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Monitoring/prioritizing workload to achieve targets.
- High attention to detail.
- Pragmatic measured approach to problem solving.
- Able to organize work to meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Being able to work as a team.
- Being able to work under pressure.
- Good knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Desirable skills or experience:
- Working Knowledge of Steam/Pressure systems advantageous but not essential.
- Any maintenance of food equipment experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment.
